1. Who we are

Assan One Insurance Broker Pvt. Ltd. (IRDAI License No. 924) operates the website at www.assanpolicy.com ("the Website") and is the data fiduciary under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") for the personal data you share with us.

2. What we collect

  • Identity & contact details: name, mobile, email, date of birth, gender, address.
  • KYC identifiers if you choose to share them: PAN, Aadhaar (only if used for e-KYC).
  • Insurance-relevant information: existing policy number, vehicle details, family member basics, declared medical history.
  • Policy & claim records once you become a customer.
  • Technical data: device type, IP, language preference (cookie), and usage analytics if you accept cookies.

3. Why we collect it

  • To compare insurance plans for you and share quotes.
  • To submit your proposal to insurers and issue policies on your behalf as a licensed broker.
  • To service your policies — renewals, endorsements, claims.
  • To communicate via SMS, email, WhatsApp, or call.
  • To comply with IRDAI, KYC/AML, and tax regulations.

4. Who we share it with

We share the minimum data necessary with: (a) the insurer you choose, to issue or service the policy; (b) our regulatory principals where required by IRDAI rules; (c) our IT vendors (Supabase for authentication, Vercel for hosting, SMSGATEWAYHUB for transactional SMS) under data-processing agreements that restrict their use to the services we've engaged them for. We do not sell your data.

5. How long we keep it

For active policies, the policy lifetime plus the longer of seven years or the period required by tax/IRDAI rules. For leads that do not convert, up to 18 months unless you ask us to delete sooner.

6. Your rights under DPDP

  • Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction & erasure — request edits or deletion.
  • Withdraw consent — for any processing that depends on your consent (e.g. marketing comms).
  • Grievance — see our Grievance Redressal page for the official escalation route.
  • Nominate — designate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to.

7. Cookies

We use a single language preference cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) and an authentication cookie (Supabase session) when you log in. We use an analytics cookie only after you accept the cookie banner; until then, we do not load analytics.
